To be ready for a transition towards a greener future in the labour market, you might not only benefit from knowing what drives you and what challenges you, but also from knowing what you are good at. Time to identify your transferable skills.

Transferable skills are skills and abilities that are relevant to a variety of settings and areas of your life. These include your professional, social and educational skills. When the nature of your job is about to change, it is important to fully understand your transferable skills and to know how to sell them to your (potential) employer. 

Indeed, in the modern labour market, employers are increasingly looking for employees who can demonstrate a good set of transferable skills because these employees tend to have an ability to be adaptable, flexible and to respond well to change within the company, organisation or job role.  

The first step to understand your transferable skills is to identify what they are. Transferable skills are skills that are acquired through life, personal and work experiences that can be adapted and applied to a variety of work contexts.
