Learning objectives

Welcome in Module 8 – How to Approach a Transition Towards a Greener System!

Having completed the seven previous modules, you now have an understanding of what the circular economy is, its opportunities, the challenges it brings to businesses and the good practices available. We cannot deny this is the way the world will move forward. But what does this mean for your own career path?

In this module, you will transfer what you have learned about the circular economy to your own professional career. First of all, you will reflect on your current skills and abilities, and how they would benefit or would be challenged as workplaces transition towards a greener system. Next, you will assess your own career management skills and finally you will come up with a personal action plan to remain employable in a greener system. To support your learning in this module, you will develop your professional lifeline, conduct a skills assessment for both transferable skills and green skills, analyse your skills using a SWOT-analysis and finally come up with a longer-term career plan.

After completing this resource, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify their job challenges and opportunities as workplaces begin the transition towards a greener system.
  2. Develop a lifelong learning attitude by assessing and improving their Career Management Skills.
  3. Develop a personal action plan to further develop their skills and remain employable in a greener system.
